"Over the last twenty years my work has evolved through portraiture.
In my latest work I try to capture memories of the freedom of childhood - the energy and spontaneity, the days of living and playing in your own imagination and the unfettered physical joy of it all. The work celebrates those moments when we scaled fortresses, stood on the ramparts as king of the castle or dared ourselves to leapfrog over the moon.
I spent a year at Glasgow School of Art and graduated from Glasgow University with a degree in Modern History and Politics, but any sculptural training came from my time at the Glasgow Sculpture Studios in the 1990s, learning alongside established artists and starting out on my own as a portrait sculptor. I was elected an Associate member of the Royal British Society of Sculptors in 1997."
