Paul, a regular finalist in recent years in the international 'Wildlife Artist of the Year' competition, lives and works in West Sussex where he can be close to the countryside and the wealth of wildlife it offers. He is also an avid diver and has travelled extensively across the globe with hundreds of dives in most of the world's oceans.
Working exclusively in metal, his canvases are sheets of copper and brass which he carefully corrodes and engraves to recreate the natural world. He is constantly pushing the boundaries of the control he can achieve over the patination process, always ensuring a finish befitting the creatures' forms and environments. With an emphasis more on texture and composition than purely on figurative representation, his pieces are energetic and engaging, and he has built up a wide range of textures, colours and finishes not seen anywhere else. Paul is also a keen conservationist, regularly donating a portion of his sales to wildlife causes.
