John Bracey creates large nebula abstract paintings. The works are bold yet inoffensive. Dreamlike they come from imagination having no reference to any particular source. The bulk of his portfolio sit within the 'Lyrical Abstraction' genre.
"There is an interest with surface and texture - 'I like a painted surface to look aged in some way, retarded and complex'. Scale and composition are important. Features and areas within the paintings could be any size - it's for the viewer to decide on the size of things. Everyone will see something different."
The colourful geographic type areas in the paintings define his work. They produce timeless scenes provoking thought and feeling from the viewer.
John has been painting for a number of years. He lives and works in Northamptonshire.
