Dani Verbeeten

Danielle Verbeeten is a British Wildlife artist based in the Southeast of England. This has a big influence on her art featuring the beautiful Sussex countryside.

With a love of sketching and drawing she studied at art college before graduating from Loughborough University with a first in Industrial Design. Growing up in the 80's she loves colour and has a huge love of retro toys probably fuelled by starting her career with a dream job as a designer for Lego in Denmark. Scandinavian design was a huge inspiration whilst working alongside designers from all over the world.
In 2003, missing the UK Danielle returned to Sussex and worked in London based branding & design agencies designing for diverse & well-known brands such as Smarties, Sanctuary Spa, Unilever & Nest... But after commuting for many years and starting a young family, the London life was a juggle. And that's when she decided to illustrate her own children’s book. She self-published Eddie the Elf, which won a Selfies Award in 2022 at the London book fair and now sells through Waterstones. Leaving the agency life, she then started drawing again developing her own style with a traditional illustrative quality.
Her appreciation of light and form from her design background is evident in Danielle's Art capturing a moment of time and storytelling into her work. Her drawings are highly detailed with a softness that the viewer could literally reach out and touch the subject and feel transported into their world.
Earlier in 2024 Danielle's work 'The Last Dance' was shortlisted into the final of the prestigious David Shepherd Wildlife Artist of the Year competition and exhibited in the Mall Galleries in London.
