Toby Meader was born into a family of artists and studied Art at Northbrook College in Worthing obtaining a Degree in Art & Design.
Toby has spent the last 5 years painting his sheep which have been causing a sensation wherever they have been shown.
He has exhibited in Petworth, Worthing, Storrington, Hove & Brighton, and now with Cloud Gallery his work is being showcased throughout the U.K. His preferred mediums are oils & acrylics. He uses the acrylics for their quick drying properties when creating his unique textured coats which really make his work stand out from the competition.
"I think sheep are amazing. Their characters are underestimated and largely unappreciated. I try to reflect their charm and delight by portraying the sheep's natural essence. I find the fleeces a great challenge as so many random shapes and forms can be found within them. I love sheep and will continue to paint them for the rest of my life"
Toby's ambition is to paint his sheep as large as possible, lending to a different perspective and giving the sheep more rightful presence. He is currently working on pieces in excess of 6ft which will, no doubt turn, heads when they are shown in the Galleries.
Definitely a name for the future, Cloud Galleries are extremely proud to be representing Toby and look forward to a solo show in the near future.
